The effectiveness of this project did leave an impact on the learners and the school, as the aim of the project was to create awareness for both the learners about being kind to themselves and others as well as building self-confidence. The project did created awareness among the learners as well as creating a positive environment. This was achieved through painting each of Foundation Phase the classroom walls with words of affirmation and positive phrases. The persons involved in this project was myself, two sponsors, the community members of the school, as well as the learners ‘spreading the word’ through the flyers that I have printed.

The school were very grateful for creating awareness among the learners and teachers, as well as showing the care behind the project for the learners and improving the school. Throughout this project, I was made aware of how ‘cruel’ children can be to themselves and each other, which brought back unpleasant memories of when I was in primary school. This made me even more determined to take on this issue and create a change.

This project improved a variety of my skill sets, such as, the improvement of my preparing abilities and my observation sills improves. At the beginning of the project, I was very nervous, as this is the first time, I had to plan something so big and important. I was afraid that something will go wrong, and I will fail in the implementing of the project. But after the project, I became more confident in my ability to plan and cooperate with other teachers.
